Sequence Analysis in Mohali

New Sequencing technologies generate massive amount of biological data. To understand the nature of raw data and produce meaningful information is called Annotation. This annotation can be done with the help of computers by using molecular biology softwares and biological databases. The term “sequence analysis” implies subjecting an amino acid sequence or nucleotide sequence to sequence alignment, sequence databases, repeated sequence searches, or other bioinformatics methods on a computer. Sequence analysis can be used to assign function to genes and proteins by the study of the similarities between the compared sequences. Sequence analysis is an automated, computer-based examination of characteristic fragments, e.g. of a DNA strand.
